Paying Surveys
If you are looking for paying surveys, then you probably want to make money by participating in online surveys. That’s great – if you go about it the right way. Believe me, I have tried all kinds of paying surveys and most of them simply can not deliver what they promise, and many are just outright scams.

Here I want you to look at some common survey scams to avoid:
Taking part in surveys that pay you by letting you entry into a draw for cash prices or other incentives. Think about it – would you take a job where the employer doesn’t pay you in cash or wires the money into your account, but instead pays your salary in lottery tickets? I hope you would not, because it’s insane. Sure, a lottery ticket might make you a millionaire, but the chances that you actually become one are next to zero. The same is true for participating in these draws that online survey companies hold. Yes, there might be a thousand dollar cash price, but what are your chances of really winning? Many times, these draws are even shared among several companies, and in the end you have a 1:654534 chance (or something like that) of actually winning something.
Another thing I advise you to stay away from is “getting paid to try products”. I know, everybody thinks of getting paid to try the next generation iPhone or a new digital videocamera – but the reality is that most of these “products” are either pharmaceutical or cosmetic products, where you basically risk ending up with medical conditions. You have to sign some agreement that you won’t sue them in case anything happens to you, and then they kind of use you like a “lab rat”. This might sound extreme, but I just want to point out that this is not always the best choice.

The only valid incentive to fill out surveys in my opinion is really if you actually get paid for it – that means if a company sends a check to you, or a money order or wires the money into your account or pays you out via paypal. All of these payment methods are legitimate in my opinion. Other than that, I tend to be skeptical.
It’s also important to understand how much time it will take to participate in a survey and how much it will pay you. Yes, you might get $5 for a survey that you can fill out at home – but if it takes three hours to fill out that survey, then I would argue it’s not worth it. So you have to know where to find high paying surveys.
Some surveys are limited to certain demographics, and if you do not fit into their profile, you will not be able to participate. All of this means that it can take a lot of time to find the right kind of survey sites, because these surveys are generally being conducted by different companies. So you need to have some kind of “central survey database” that does all the pre-screening for you to make sure the surveys are legitimate and worth your time. That’s exactly what Paid Surveys Etc. (see link below) does for you.
